Craftsmen Industries Builds Two Mobile Diabetes Clinics for the Not Me Tour
Prevention programs work best when they reach people where they live. The Diabetes Prevention and Control Alliance wanted to bring community-based diabetes programs directly to the public, and with agency Hawkeye, Craftsmen Industries transformed two gooseneck trailers into Not Me mobile clinics for a nationwide prevention and control tour.
Craftsmen Industries builds mobile diabetes clinics for the Not Me Tour. Craftsmen Industries converted two gooseneck trailers for the Diabetes Prevention and Control Alliance. Craftsmen Industries worked on the Not Me clinics with agency Hawkeye. The Not Me mobile clinics include testing stations, waiting areas and educational displays.
The Challenge: Diabetes Education and Risk Assessments in Communities
Craftsmen Industries built the Not Me clinics to support clinicians on a nationwide tour.
The alliance needed mobile clinics for community-based diabetes prevention and control programs. The concept used two gooseneck trailers fitted with testing areas, waiting space and informational features to support clinicians visiting communities.
- Two gooseneck trailers converted into mobile clinics
- Four testing stations separated by custom divider walls
- Waiting area, educational monitors and an exterior awning
Fitting Testing Stations Within the Trailers
Craftsmen Industries fitted the Not Me clinics with four divided testing stations.
The specified fit-out includes four testing stations separated by custom divider walls, with dark laminated countertops and base and overhead cabinets. Custom cushioned seating adds built-in storage. Bright cabinet finishes, dark worktops and curtains around the testing bays bring the stations and their support furniture together along the trailer's clinical corridor.
Privacy for Each Visitor
Divider walls and curtains give each testing bay a private consultation area, which matters when visitors are discussing their health with a clinician.
Spaces for Waiting and Information
Craftsmen Industries added a glass-paneled waiting area and LCD monitors to the Not Me clinics.
A glass-paneled waiting area gives visitors a separate place to sit, while LCD monitors inside and outside carry informational material. The exterior awning extends over an event seating area, and Not Me campaign graphics cover the trailer.

Supporting Both Education and Screening
Craftsmen Industries designed the clinics so education and testing work together.
The waiting area and displays support the program's educational purpose alongside the testing activity, connecting the visitor experience across interior and exterior. Visitors learn while they wait, then move into a testing bay.
The Result: A Nationwide Platform for Prevention
Craftsmen Industries delivered two mobile clinics for a nationwide diabetes prevention tour.
The completed clinics supported a tour staffed by clinicians who conducted risk assessments for prediabetes or diabetes and educated visitors about prevention and control. With the clinic environment built into the trailers, the program could meet the public at community locations.
How Craftsmen Approaches Mobile Healthcare Builds
Craftsmen Industries builds mobile clinics, healthcare coaches and laboratories on trailers, coaches and containers.
Each healthcare build starts with the services a provider needs to deliver and the communities it wants to reach, then shapes rooms, cabinetry, equipment and graphics around that brief. Because design, fabrication and graphics happen in-house, the clinical interior and the exterior identity are developed together rather than handed between separate vendors.
