KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE
First of all, you have to know your skin type and according to that you should go for the further procedure of facial. After identifying your skin type; whether it is oily, dry, combination or normal, choose the cleansing milk or cleanser, homemade face packs.
CLEANSING THE SKIN
Cleansing is the first step of the facial. You can take a good cleansing milk from any renowned brand according to your skin type or you can choose raw milk. Raw milk is the best cleanser if you are doing facial at home. Apply cleansing milk or cream all over your face, ears and neck so that all the dirt is removed from the skin. Now wipe the face with the help of a piece of clean cotton.
EXFOLIATING
This is the second step after cleansing and requires a facial scrub. You can also make a Natural homemade face scrub. Apply the scrub all over your face, ear, neck and more around your nose and forehead which requires some extra attention. The scrub is gently rubbed all over the face in circular movements. Continue this process for 2 to 5 minutes. Now wipe your face with wet towel nicely so that all the scrub is removed from the face as it tends to dry the skin.
- Orange scrub:
In 3 tsp of fresh orange juice, add 2 tsp of oats and form a paste. Scrub gently on your face with circular motions. Wash off after 5 min. This is suitable for oily and combination skin.
- Lemon scrub:
Mix 1 tsp of lemon juice, honey and sugar to form a paste. Scrub gently and keep for 5 min. This scrub is suitable for all seasons and also reduces blemishes and dark spots.
- Papaya scrub:
In 2 tsp of mashes papaya pulp, add a tsp of sugar granules, oats and honey. Make a paste and scrub gently using circular motions. Keep for 5 min and wash off with water.
- Water melon scrub:
Mix ¼ cup of fresh watermelon juice with 3 tsp of gram flour to form a smooth paste. Scrub and keep for 3 mi before rinsing with cool water. This scrub is ideal for all skin types as it is hydrating and rejuvenates the skin instantly.
GENTLE MASSAGE
After exfoliation massage your skin with the help of massage cream. The cream should be applied on the face first. Perform circular movements all over the face so that the cream is absorbed by the skin. You can use normal or rose water in this procedure. The movements should be circular and from downwards to upwards. E.g. from the neck towards cheeks. Continue this process for 15-20 minutes and on every part of your face. Wipe the extra cream off with the a wet towel.
Banana cream – mash ripe banana pulp with yogurt and honey to make a paste and use it to massage on the face.
Strawberry cream – fresh strawberry pulp mixed with a teaspoon of cream can be used as a massage cream for dry skin.
Lemon and honey – honey, gram flour and lemon juice is mixed in proportion to get a smooth paste. This massage cream is suitable for oily skin.
STEAMING
Steaming can be carried out in many ways. The purpose of steaming is to clean the pores of the skin on the face that accumulate toxins and dirt. The heated steam dissolves the hardened dirt particles and drains them away. Free of the accumulated dust, the pores become more receptive to the ingredients applied to the skin in later stages of the facial process.
FACIAL MASK
After massaging the face for about fifteen minutes now, it’s time for tightening your skin with the help of a face mask. Apply a renowned brand face mask or natural homemade face mask all over the face leaving the area under your eyes. It will dry off within 15-20 minutes. Wipe your face gently with the wet towel and apply a toner or moisturiser.
MOISTURISING
